March Pop-Up Classes

Dance Aerobics:  March 28th at 11:00 am with Kaitlyn

This is a 45-minute class designed to make cardio more FUN! Simple dance movement patterns are combined with high tempo music to keep your heart rate up and your body moving. 


Group Fitness Classes

You may notice that our fitness class descriptions sometimes include the words Functional Movement or Functional Mobility. In case you’re wondering, that means we’re working on training your body to move freely and pain-free throughout your day. Things like picking up a child, doing household chores, going to the grocery, or climbing stairs are the basics. At more advanced levels, we’re improving your ability to push your body without injury. That’s what you get for working out at a Physical Therapy clinic’s Wellness Center!

Balance Bridge  Focused on improving core strength, flexibility, body awareness and overall functional mobility, this class is appropriate for anyone who would like to feel steadier on their feet! With regular, consistent practice of the exercises people improve their posture and mobility.

Fun GX Core Circuit  With unique drills and top-notch instruction, this class will show you how to reclaim your strength and “rehab” your abs. It’s worth getting up early! Thursdays at 9 am *Pre-registration required 24 hours in advance*

  •  Thursdays at 6:00 am with Kaitlyn

Fun Gx 2  Functional Group Exercise, Level 2. This is our most popular group exercise class! A moderate intensity class with a good mixture of functional movement exercises to develop balance, strength, flexibility and cardio-all with attention to proper technique.

Fun Gx 3:  Functional Group Exercise, Level 3.  Like the Level 2 class, but bumped up a notch! Exercises are more complicated and continue to challenge and develop balance, strength, flexibility and cardio. Intensity becomes high. 

  • Tuesdays at 6:00 am with Kaitlyn, Note: The First Tuesday of the month is an aquatic GX3 class

Splash Classes  Get your heart pumping with this high intensity water workout! Class incorporates vigorous multi-directional movements, upper & lower extremity coordination, and pool exercise equipment. You need to be comfortable in deep water in this class. GX2 has a higher level of intensity than GX1. Class size limit: 7.

Splash Circuit  Using the variable options of our endless pool, the instructor designs a workout of stations through which participants rotate. Have fun mixing it up! Class size limit: 7

Splash Meetup  Meet up for an informal Splash class-the group will decide how the workout will go, so bring your favorite moves!

Swim Lessons  Registration is required and these classes tend to fill up quickly! Please note that your child’s spot is not reserved until you’ve paid in full. For full class descriptions, click here and scroll down to Level 2 & 3 Group Swim Lessons. To register, call 828-225-3838.

  • Level Two: Tuesdays from 4:00 to 4:45 pm and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:15 pm
  • Level Three: Tuesdays from 5:00 to 5:45 pm and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:15 pm

Yoga & Stretch Classes

Chair Yoga  This beginner stretch class includes breathing and movement for a modified practice that takes place seated in a chair. Perfect for folks who have difficulty getting up and down off the floor.

Gentle Yoga/Stretch   Learn how to embrace your rhythms by using your breath, moving your body and focusing your attention on poses accessible and adaptable for you. 

  • Tuesdays at 9:30 am

Restorative Yoga  A gentle, calming, floor-based therapeutic practice that soothes the nervous system and aides in the release of physical and mental tension. Using props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps, restorative offers us passive, gentle stretching through sustained postures that ease the entire system into relaxation and balance. Perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to slow down, shift the effects of stress and fatigue or support their recovery from illness or injury.

  • Mondays at 11:00 am 

Yoga for Well Being  This is a gentle beginning level yoga class that includes the basic components of a balanced yoga practice. Each class will give participants practice in slow deep breathing, mindfulness, flexibility, strength, balance and a peaceful heart and mind. 

  • Wednesdays at 9:00 am

Interested in a bit of extra help? Stop by on Mondays at 2:00 pm. Come and learn how to use our equipment or ask questions about your workout routine, your form or how to meet your goals. We can also help you chart your workout to keep track of your progress.
