Small group training is the secret to your success.

There are two big problems with conventional gym memberships. One: new members don’t know what to do or how to do it, and end up drifting away (or getting hurt). Two: the classes have 20-40 participants competing for the instructor’s attention.

One of our founding principles at AFF is to give personalized attention to every member. That’s why we keep our courses small (most are <8 participants), and spend time with each new member to determine the best course(s) for him/her.

Weight Loss & Accountability

This course is designed to offer support and education for your weight loss goals. Whether you are trying to lose a sticky ten pounds or are reaching for over one hundred pounds, this class will benefit you! This course will cover areas such as vision casting and realistic goal setting, mental training and learning to set yourself up for success, weighing in and measurement taking, accountability, nutrition, and proper exercise to specifically target fat burning.

Beginner’s Strength Training

This course is designed for active individuals who have never participated in strength training before, who feel uninformed or unsafe in regards to strength training, who have negative thoughts or feelings about strength training, or who simply want to check on correct form and posture. This course will cover topics such as how to create a balanced strength training routine, how to use a variety of strength training equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, cable columns, bodyweight), correct form and posture overall and for specific lifts, why strength training is an important component of your health, and how to incorporate a fully body strength training regimen that is perfect for YOU.

Strength & Cardio Combo

This is a High Intensity course designed to kick up your workout routine! Each class is designed as a fully body workout through various combinations of strength training and cardiovascular exercises. Dynamic and rhythmic movements will target an increase in heart rate that typically is not achieved during strength training alone. Designed like a HIIT class (High Intensity Interval Training), periods of exercise followed by periods of rest set at a specific pace will leave you feeling full of energy while also helping you achieve your health and wellness goals!

Strong Foundation to a Better Function

A functional movement course focused on building a SOLID CORE foundation-this is NOT Abs, by the way.  This is legs, hips, butt, low back, and balance, with little cardio intervals tossed in, for a 1 hour long fitness blast that will lead you to a better life.  This course is NOT for the meek, the faint hearted, or the slow to rise (after all, it is at 6 a.m.!!) Ask yourself what you want to be…what you want to be able to do…what you want to feel like throughout your day…that is what will shape this class for you: Your goals. Your desires. Your efforts. Your results.  But be prepared to work hard and earn them!

Functional Movement Evolution

This course series is a progression of human movement from our first breath through our first step and beyond. With focused regression of basic core-centric movements and intrinsic breathing sequence we build, as we did in our infancy, a strong, balanced, and mobile body. Participants will gain awareness of and access to greater ranges of motion, strength, and stability. Please join Taylor for functional movement at it’s finest.

Strength Training over 50

Using your own body weight, hand weights, cables and bands, this class utilizes real life functional movement patterns such as twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, lunging and squatting in a FUN and creative way. Core training, balance and flexibility are all included to create a well-rounded program.

Tai Chi, Yoga & Stretching

Stretch & Release Therapy Ball  

This course is similar to giving yourself a deep tissue massage, combining yoga movements, breath work, stretching, and yoga therapy balls we will identify weak and overworked areas of the body to release and strengthen them. Each week we will focus on particular a body area that tends to hold tension and learn techniques to roll the tension out.  This is fitness therapy for everyday living that teaches you to self identify and care for your whole body to keep it strong, healthy and active. Participants should be able to transition from standing to the floor easily.

Awake & Flow morning Yoga Practice

Come learn a regular morning yoga routine that you can become comfortable and confident to practice at home. Each week we will practice the same routine-perfecting and understanding each move.  The class will involve a warming up of the body through breathwork and stretching, moving on to balance and strengthening postures. This morning routine will get your entire being focused and energized for your day.  By the end of the series you will be able to carry this morning practice into your daily life.

Stretching For Daily Life

Flexibility is a valuable component of our health that is often overlooked or ignored. This course teaches simple and effective stretching routines that can be easily incorporated into daily life. From the professional athlete to the average individual, proper balanced stretching can increase joint range of motion, prevent against injury or ailment, provide balance and support to the body, and improve postural control.

Balance Bridge

Increase your Core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. With regular, consistent practice of the exercises people improve their posture and mobility.

Pilates Mat

This class will introduce the principles of Joseph Pilates, and all levels mat exercises. These mat exercises will strengthen and stretch the musculature from the shoulder girdle through the hips, working to balance posture and increase core strength.

Tai Chi

This class is perfect for beginners & those who are transitioning out of physical therapy and would benefit from further balance and strength training.

Pool Courses

Aqua Boot Camp

If you are looking for a workout which will maintain or increase your fitness level with less impact on your joints, a “liquid gym” is the place to be! This higher intensity class is designed to improve cardio conditioning, alternating with strength/balance and core training segments.  Water exercise is an excellent modality for cross training and gives knees and backs a break from land based cardio workouts.  Non-swimmers are welcome; participants have the choice of working in chest deep water as well as deep water.

Splash Circuits

Get ready to get your heart pumping with this high intensity water workout! Using the variable options of our endless pool, the instructor designs a workout of stations through which participants rotate.Class incorporates vigorous multi-directional movements, upper & lower extremity coordination, and pool exercise equipment.
