Small group training is the secret to success.
There are two big problems with conventional gym memberships. One: new members don’t know what to do or how to do it, and end up drifting away (or getting hurt). Two: the classes have 20-40 participants competing for the instructor’s attention.
One of our founding principles at AFF is to give personalized attention to every member. That’s why we keep our courses small (most are <8 participants), and spend time with each new member to determine the best course(s) for him/her.

Beginner’s Strength Training
This course is designed for active individuals who have never participated in strength training before, who feel uninformed or unsafe in regards to strength training, who have negative thoughts or feelings about strength training, or who simply want to check on correct form and posture. This course will cover topics such as how to create a balanced strength training routine, how to use a variety of strength training equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, cable columns, bodyweight), correct form and posture overall and for specific lifts, why strength training is an important component of your health, and how to incorporate a fully body strength training regimen that is perfect for YOU.
Strong Foundation to a Better Function
A functional movement course focused on building a SOLID CORE foundation-this is NOT Abs, by the way. This is legs, hips, butt, low back, and balance, with little cardio intervals tossed in, for a 1 hour long fitness blast that will lead you to a better life. This course is NOT for the meek, the faint hearted, or the slow to rise (after all, it is at 6 a.m.!!) Ask yourself what you want to be…what you want to be able to do…what you want to feel like throughout your day…that is what will shape this class for you: Your goals. Your desires. Your efforts. Your results. But be prepared to work hard and earn them!
Strength Training over 50
Using your own body weight, hand weights, cables and bands, this class utilizes real life functional movement patterns such as twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, lunging and squatting in a FUN and creative way. Core training, balance and flexibility are all included to create a well-rounded program.
Yoga, Stretching, & Balance
Awake & Flow morning Yoga Practice
Come learn a regular morning yoga routine that you can become comfortable and confident to practice at home. Each week we will practice the same routine-perfecting and understanding each move. The class will involve a warming up of the body through breathwork and stretching, moving on to balance and strengthening postures. This morning routine will get your entire being focused and energized for your day. By the end of the series you will be able to carry this morning practice into your daily life.
Balance & Mobility
This weekly class helps not only increase balance and reaction speed, but also strength, flexibility, posture, and body awareness. We do everything from proper squatting & lifting, to balance challenges with both eyes open AND eyes closed, to partner tug-of-wars…it’s FUN! There’s also a lot of education so participants can continue regular, consistent practices at home to help maintain their gains.
Essentrics draws on elements of Tai Chi, ballet and physiotherapy to create a pain free body. Essentrics is aimed at regaining your mobility while slowly building strength and awakening the power of your 650 muscles. For men and women of all ages who are looking for a slow-paced, full body workout.
Aqua Boot Camp
If you are looking for a workout which will maintain or increase your fitness level with less impact on your joints, a “liquid gym” is the place to be! This higher intensity class is designed to improve cardio conditioning, alternating with strength/balance and core training segments. Water exercise is an excellent modality for cross training and gives knees and backs a break from land based cardio workouts. Non-swimmers are welcome; participants have the choice of working in chest deep water as well as deep water.
Get ready to get your heart pumping with this high intensity water workout! Using the variable options of our endless pool, the instructor designs a workout of stations through which participants rotate.Class incorporates vigorous multi-directional movements, upper & lower extremity coordination, and pool exercise equipment.
